History of the Church

  • Firstly, it started as a Bible study group. We had small home meetings. The Chinese bible study continued to grow. We had some visiting bible teachers from Iowa City, such as professor Lai, Yong Gun, who later moved to Colorado.

    最初，教会起源于小规模的家庭查经小组，不断发展壮大。当时有一些圣经教师从爱荷华城过来主持查经，例如现在搬到科罗拉多州的Lai, Yong Gun教授。　

  • We would rotated through different family’s houses including Weng, Xue Mei. Yan, Rixin and his wife

  • Jiao Ling would also open their house in the Quad Cities although they were new believers coming from Iowa City. Dave and Shulin Graham would also open their house routinely to Bible Study. Paul hosted Sunday Service at his old house for a while.

  • As our meetings began to outgrow the homes, Shulin developed a good relationship with Grace Evangelical Free Church, who eventually let us use their facility as we slowly began to grow. 10/27/2002 we had the first Sunday Worship at Grace. Tony Chen soon received the Lord and led his wife and family to know Christ as well, as they came to join us as well. Various Christian leaders would some to help us, such as Vivian Tzen from Iowa City as a full time Christian worker. There was a church leader Brother Lin who encouraged us and helped us file the paper work to register with the state of Iowa as a 503(c) non- profit organization, using the name Quad City Christian Church.
  • 教会人数持续增长,Shulin姊妹通过在Grace Evangelical Free Church的朋友，在该教会为我们找到了一个固定的聚会场所。
  • ２００２年１０月２７日，我们在该教会举行了第一次主日崇拜。此后不久，陈智杰弟兄伉俪受洗加入教会。此间，很多来自不同教会的兄弟姊妹都来帮忙，例如来自爱荷华城的全职侍奉的曾媛姊妹。在一位林姓弟兄的鼓励帮助下，教会在爱荷华州正式注册成立非政府组织，注册为Quad City Christian Church.
  • Although our numbers would wax and wane and people would come and go, we have slowly added more members recently over the years, especially some recent families with strong Christian desire.

Statement of Faith

  • We believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit as the three Persons of the Trinity as one tru God, who created heaven and earth.

  • We believe in one God, eternally self-existing, omnipresent, all knowing (omniscient), all-powerful (omnipotent) and unchanging (immutable).

  • We believe that Jesus Christ is God himself incarnated, fully God, fully man. He was conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Even though he lived a sinless life, he willingly sacrificed himself on the cross for the sin of men. He was buried and resurrected three days latter and ascended into heaven.
  • • 我们相信耶稣基督是神道成肉身，是完全的神，完全的人。他是圣灵借着童女玛丽亚所生。尽管他的一生毫无瑕疵，他甘愿为了人的罪在十字架上牺牲了自己的生命。他被埋葬却于三日后复活，升于高天。
  • We believe the Holy Spirit, enables man to understand the truth and instructs us in the truth, which is the Word of God. He convicts men of sin, baptizes every believer into the body of Christ, dwells in believers and seals all believers unto the day of redemption.

  • We believe the Scripture is the eternal truth, the Word of God, written by man, inspired by the Holy Spirit, our authority and instructions for living.
  • • 我们相信圣经为使永恒真理，虽有人所纪录，但是由神所默示，并经圣灵感动而成。圣经是我们生活的最高权威和训导。
  • We believe all human beings are sinners. Only through God's Salvation through the atoning and redemptive work of Jsus Christ, May we be saved.
  • • 我们相信所有人都是罪人。只有通过上帝的救恩，以及耶稣基督的救赎才以得救。
  • We believe that the church comprises of all who have been saved by God's grace who are united as the Body of christ, with Christ as our head. As His Church on this earth, we are commanded by our Lord Jesus to carry out water baptism to testify of our union with Christ, and the Lord's Supper to remember His atoning work for us and the assembling together of His believers locally for His universal Body.

  • We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ after which God will raise the dead, judge the word and we will all give an account to God who will then assign His Children to eternal life with Him and condemn unbelievers to eternal punishment.
